    This Aircraft Platform / IT Project Manager position is in a face-paced environment focused on support for special operations forces. The successful candidate will be a structured Project Manager, yet flexible in their approach to meeting critical mission needs in a rapid engineering cell. The candidate will lead multi-disciplinary engineering project teams supporting AFSOF mission objectives. You'll be responsible for working with both contract and customer leadership to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and close complex aircraft platform projects while meeting the day-to-day operational needs of the organization. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

    • Providing technical, administrative, and operational management of assigned projects or tasks, including contract and subcontractor management from initiation to closing
    • Supervising assigned project team members to ensure tasks are completed on schedule
    • Participating in the development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, and task order and administrative reporting.
    • Conducting planning and providing recommendations to client on task workload.
    • Attending customer meetings and may serve as primary client liaison.
    • Interacting with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff on behalf of the client.
    • Ensuring quality assurance of project deliverables.
    • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
    • Participating in special projects as required.  


    • Bachelors Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience that equates to a 4-year degree


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



    • Minimum 5 (8+ preferred) years of related experience, including supervisory experience.
    • Project Management Institute - Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP) certification required
    • Former aircraft systems experience required (aircrew, avionics, etc…)
    • Solid working knowledge of information systems and applications in order to effectively manage complex aircraft platform project integration with SOF IT systems
    • Track record of successfully managing multiple concurrent projects in a high ops-tempo environment
    • Experience managing projects in a matrix environment utilizing shared resources
    • Ability to facilitate technical requirement decomposition from stated high level customer needs
    • Excellent communication skills (presentation skills, interpersonal communications)
    • Excellent documentation skills
    • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand aircraft systems and ensure accuracy of work
    • Demonstrable high-proficiency using MS Project
    • The ability to flex hours when needed to support mission requirements
    • Must have a Secret Clearance to start (TS preferred) with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

    Highly desired

    • Understanding of Developmental and Engineering processes, phases and deliverables
    • Familiar with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
    • Functional knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management
    • Experience with Atlassian suite of tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, etc.) HIGHLY desired
    • Functional knowledge of cybersecurity processes/policies to include certification and accreditation
    • ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation certification desired
    • Functional knowledge ground and airborne radio systems and datalinks a plus

    Work Environment

    • Work environment is primarily administrative office and test lab
    • Potential TDY’s to CONUS and OCONUS locations – as needed
    • US Passport required
