Manage the design of server and application architectures and the administrative operation and maintenance of server hardware and software. Maintain system security by establishing secure practices and procedures, monitor usage statistics and logs, and monitor and remedie attempts to penetrate or corrupt server files. Develop baseline configurations and direct the modification of configuration settings. Supervise all Enterprise project initiatives; evaluate scope of work and provides multiple courses of action with a primary COA recommendation. Provide expertise within multiple IT systems such as: Windows Server 2008 R2/201/2016, VMware 6.5, SharePoint 2016, Exchange Server 2016, as well as excellent knowledge of related disciplines. Exhibit strong technical skills as they relate to numerous systems and storage technologies including but not limited to: Windows Server Hyper-V, Microsoft SQL Server, Directory Services, DNS, SCCM, SCOM, SCSM, DFS, DHCP, IIS, VMware vSphere 6.5, ESXi, Cisco UCS/Nexus, EMC. Remains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications. Recommends future direction or projects to management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Has experience with Virtualization, Windows, Storage, Linux, and McAfee
Has full technical knowledge of all phases of systems engineering
Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through
Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience
Can create effective and clear user manuals; must be able to write and evaluate scripts that contribute to overall systems efficiency
Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work
Able to review the work of others and detect errors or needed modifications
Able to identify and resolve problems or inadequacies of systems engineering
BA/BS or equivalent 5-7 yrs. of experience in Systems Engineering
MCTIP Certification or equivalent required
ITIL v3 Certification preferred
DoDI 8570.01m Certification required
5-7 years of related systems engineering experience.
Must have a Top Secret-SCI security clearance or be SCI eligible
