The Wireless Network Engineering role will evaluate; design; document; install; implement; test; perform problem isolation and resolution; monitor; tune and set standards.
� Maintain a complex range of wireless and wired computer network components and systems.
� Provide client consulting and training on the interfacing and use of the network facilities.
� Plans and coordinates computer wireless network initiatives.
� Researches; evaluates and recommends new wireless computer network equipment and technologies.
� Devise solutions to operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.
� Provide internal consulting; technical guidance; information and support to application developers; computer operations; workstation support; company management and departmental clients.
� Works with and directs other network professionals as required to coordinate efforts resolve cross-team issues and communicate changes.
Knowledge; Skills and Abilities
Provide enterprise level design; support; and monitoring for wireless and wired networks. This would include directing and performing configuration; administration; troubleshooting and support of wireless and wired networking devices; WAN/LAN optimization systems; VoIP/RoIP/Video; and encryption devices. Exhibit strong technical skills related to wireless networking technologies including but not limited to: 802.11n; ARUBA; Access Points; EIGRP; route redistribution; route filtering; Multicast; QoS; NBAR; GRE tunnels; Layer 2/3 switching; interVLAN routing; NAT; VPNs Spanning Tree; standard/extended ACLs; PKI; TACACS; Solarwinds; Riverbeds; and encryption devices. Additional responsibilities include supervisory and management of assigned personnel and auditing of network/system devices to ensure standards compliance; and managing projects.
� 802.11 and ARUBA wireless experience required (ACMA or ACMP preferred)
� Core Routing and Switching: EIGRP; GRE tunnels; InterVLAN routing; redistribution; ACLs; Multicast; QoS; NBAR; NAT; VPN; Layer 2/3 switching; HSRP; Spanning tree
� Supplement Routing and Switching: TACACS; VoIP (Cisco Call Manager); RoIP (Wave); LAN/WAN optimization (Riverbed); monitoring solutions (Solarwinds/NetMRI); encryption devices (KG175; KG250; etc)
� CCNP Wireless or equivalent certification required
� CCNA Security or 8570 IAT Level II certified
� Secure Wireless; Public Key Infrastructure; and mobile device experience
� Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Experience
� ITIL v3 Foundation certification preferred
� Competent to work at a high technical level on all phases of network operations
� Good communications skills; shows tact; effective listening skills and follow through
� Can effectively deliver training; possess good consulting skills
� May be required to provide clear and effective direction to less experienced staff
� Must be able to evaluate network performance and interact with users to solve complex problem
� Detail oriented and organized; able to understand network evaluation criteria and be exact in assessments
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science; Engineering; or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience.
10 years of directly related experience in wirelss network analysis and design.
