This ARMA Network Administrator/MDRT Hub position is a full time opportunity for candidates who are looking for a Challenge in a fast paced energetic environment. Typical responsibilities for this position include providing support and configuration of Medium Data Rate Terminal (MDRT) Hub equipment, iDirect, and tactical SHF systems encompassing planning & design through operations and deployment.




  • As a Network /MDRT Hub Administrator, provide Satellite Technical support and maintenance of telecommunications transmission media systems, services and network architecture for the Medium Data Rate Satellite Architecture Network and Medium Data Rate Terminal (MDRT) systems.
  • This support shall include planning, configuration, operation, maintenance, and documentation related to MDRT architecture, network, and systems and associated equipment.
  • Establish connections through created option files issued upon submittal of satellite access request (SAR) and gateway access request (GAR); perform network connectivity monitoring, system failure management, and routine support.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain network services to include highly specialized and unique worldwide networks in support of high visibility customers.
  • Monitor, track, report, and restore IT networks involving iDirect communications hardware and software, stand-alone data systems, and video hardware and software systems designed for use on satellite and fiber optic networks.
  • Works with other systems and network professionals as required to coordinate efforts, in order to maintain connectivity to external networks and resolve cross-team issues.
  • This position typically provides in-garrison support but may be subject to provide deployed OCONUS IT Support as required. This support may include Forward-Deployed OCONUS locations, including Areas of Active Hostilities (AAH), as well as, areas Outside Declared Theater of Active Armed Conflict (ODTAAC), in sometimes harsh field conditions, including Forward Operating Bases (FOB).


Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • 5-8 years of directly related experience in network administration and support.
  • MDRT Architecture and Systems experience
  • DOD 8570 compliant I.E. Sec+ / CCNA Security, required
  • Experience with MDRT, i-direct, or tactical SHF systems
  • Able to work Independently with little to no supervision
  • Competent to work at a technical level on all phases of systems administration activities
  • Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through
  • Anticipates questions and is prepared with answers
  • Intermediate understanding of Windows Server/Client administration
  • Must be a consummate professional in both demeanor and attire
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Intermediate knowledge of SATCOM and SHF transmission systems
  • Intermediate understanding of networking and ability to troubleshoot
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work



Security Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance
