Job Description

Unix/Linux Splunk System Administrator responsible for installation, configuration, and monitoring of multiple servers that support Splunk in a distributed environment. This primarily consists of RHEL server configuration management, monitoring, security hardening, performance tuning and data protection. This position is responsible for providing 24/7 system support. The applicant must have strong communication skills and a deep knowledge and experience in system troubleshooting and support.


  • Experience with operating system and hardware tuning for optimal performance.
  • Experience managing and deploying operating systems in a virtual environment.
  • Develop scripts for automating routine tasks.
  • Monitor servers and applications for errors and performance problems.
  • Apply patches to meet site requirements.
  • Monitors and resolves any problems that may arise from the distribution or installation.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction, yet able to work in a team environment.


Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.


  • 5-8 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.
  • Linux (Minimum 4 years)
  • Virtualization (Minimum 2 years - VMware Preferred)
  • RHCSA/RHCE Certification (Preferred)
  • System automation using Ansible (Preferred)
  • Splunk administration experience a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of OS troubleshooting, system hardening, network troubleshooting
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills (must be able to communicate highly-technical concepts in non-technical terms)
