    The Program Director, Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) Program, is responsible for managing 350 distributed staff and financial oversight for an 8 year, $500 M Military Resiliency and Human Performance Program to include staffing and recruiting for 21 distinct labor categories. The Director will oversee contract service delivery including human performance, psychological performance, family support, knowledge management, and service optimization. The Director is responsible for ensuring that special operations forces (SOF) individuals, components, units, their support staff or family members are provided with high quality services and support; services that are critical as these individuals are sent frequently into combat and routinely risk their lives on missions of national strategic importance. The Director will work closely with the USSOCOM POTFF Director to collaborate and continuously improve the operational readiness for special operators (SEALs, SWCCs, Army's Rangers, Green Berets, Night Stalkers, and Air Force and Marine Special Operators).  Day-to-day duties include:

    1. Managing business relations with the various customer sets, ensuring integration and coordination of all activities needed to execute the contract.
    2. Ensure timeliness, completeness and quality of work
    3. Rapidly identify and take corrective action on all program related problems
    4. Attract, Recruit, Train, Develop, Retain and Manage employees
    5. Ensure 100% compliance on all task orders for employee credentialing/qualifications
    6. Conduct regularly scheduled program reviews with Government customers and solicit continuous feedback on performance throughout the contract period
    7. Manage the contract “phase-in” and transition periods, adhering to all deadlines and milestones
    8. Overall profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for the program. Manage cost, schedule, and performance baselines.
    9. Meet company financial expectations set forth by senior leadership
    10. Travel to contract sites, meet regularly with customers, staff, and teammates as necessary
    11. Establish and maintain a cross-functional relationship with supporting and/or partnering entities both internal and external to General Dynamics
    12. Oversee compliance with all contract requirements

    Professional, diplomatic, and effective oral and written communication skills for e-mails, deliverables, reports, analysis, and communication upward and downward


    1. Bachelors Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
    2. Professional certification (PMP) preferred.
    3. Advanced Degree (Masters / PhD) in Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy, Behavioral Health, Health Service Management, Science, Clinical Psychology, Business Administration or related field preferred
    4. Previous Coursework or Executive Education in Data Analytics, Statistics, Big Data, Bioinformatics, or related area desired


    10-12 years of related program management experience.

    1. Direct work experience in SOF, SOCOM, DOD Health Affairs, or a POTFF related program
    2. An in-depth understanding of USSOCOM, its component commands, units, mission-set and operational tempo
    3. Past experience leading P&L on a US Federal Government human performance, health services, health care related Program of $75 M annual revenue or higher
    4. Proven leadership effectiveness managing a large workforce of 200+ employees
    5. Previous experience leading a geographically dispersed workforce
    6. Minimum 5 years’ experience managing projects or tasks
    7. Previous military experience in SOCOM or Component Command. (USASOC, AFSOC, MARSOC, NSW) preferred
    8. Previous leadership experience within USSOCOM preferred
    9. In depth understanding of military medical and human performance / program effectiveness desired
    10. Recent experience in primary POTFF lines of effort (LoE): Human Performance (HP), Behavioral Health, Spiritual Enhancement, Personnel Operational Tempo (PERSTEMPO) management and Family Programs desired

    11. First-hand experience or physical and mental ability to ride on watercraft, aircraft, and other vehicles utilized by special operation units to accomplish their missions.
