The SR Cloud Engineer leverages broad technical knowledge of the public Cloud offerings of key providers, including Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google to architect custom solutions that meet the business and security needs of the client. Work in conjunction with knowledgeable architects to develop the client’s Unified Data Architecture ecosystem solutions in the Cloud with designs for scalable security. Identify, establish, and manage AWS Test Drives, Proof of Concept (POC), and production engagements on the public Cloud. Define new as-a-service packages in areas including analytics, database, and platform that leverage public Cloud environments and support internal developers and external partner solutions. Participate in the design and development of a Cloud or hybrid architecture that will be aligned with the client’s business objectives based on business, information, application, and system requirements.
Must have advance and proven knowledge with cloud services (ideally AWS, AZUREand Private clouds).
Experience understanding potential problems, and how to setup a geographically redundant service in the cloud.
A solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks).
Experience with Linux/UNIX systems and the best practices for deploying applications to those stacks.
Experience with different databases, including working knowledge of SQL, relational data stores and NoSQL databases.
Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Certification Requirements: Tier IV level certification in one or more of the areas below:
MCSE Private Cloud Certification
VMware Certified Design Expert
At least fifteen years of Cloud or Cloud related engineering experience while meeting expertise requirements
